At a leading fruit processing facility in Lleida, we have commissioned a pioneering energy storage installation for self-consumption, making it one of the first facilities in Catalonia to incorporate a battery system of this kind.
The storage solution is integrated with the company's energy consumption, where a 1,200 kW zero-export solar photovoltaic plant is already in operation.
The system provides 1,856 kWh of storage capacity through 8 TDG batteries with integrated inverters, enabling intelligent management of the energy generated and adapting it to the facility’s actual energy needs.
This large-scale project delivers outstanding efficiency and optimization results, increasing self-consumed energy to 45% and achieving an 82% utilization rate of the photovoltaic installation.
The main objective has been to store surplus solar energy generated during the day for use at night and during periods of higher energy costs, demonstrating that energy storage is already a highly profitable solution for reducing costs.
In addition, this project advances the company’s energy transition strategy and positions the fruit processing facility as one of the most sustainability-focused operations in the sector.
